Menopause: a new chapter in female strength

Menopause: a new chapter in female strength

As women, we go through many changes throughout our lives — from puberty to menopause.

While we experience some of these changes as exciting, others can worry us or even really affect the quality of our lives.

If you’re a woman in your 40s or 50s, menopause is probably something you’ve been thinking about recently. While it can bring some changes and challenges, it’s time to recognize that it’s also an incredible opportunity to start a new chapter in your life…

Menopause is a natural process of permanent cessation of menstruation, often called the “change of life”.

It is different for every woman and usually begins around the age of 51, although it can occur anytime between the ages of 40 and 60.

Although it can be accompanied by unpleasant symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia, mood swings, fatigue, and vaginal dryness, menopause is a unique experience for every woman.

Menopause is one of the most important physiological and emotional transitions in a woman’s life. It marks the end of the reproductive phase, but it does not mark the end of femininity, energy, or enjoyment of life – quite the opposite.

What many women experience as a “loss” can be a stage of personal empowerment. With the right support, menopause doesn’t have to be a struggle – it can be a safe, mindful, and smooth sailing towards a stronger version of yourself.

An evolutionary perspective: why does menopause even exist?

You may be wondering – why does fertility stop at all, while the body and spirit can still be very vital?

According to evolutionary theory, menopause is not accidental, but an adaptation with a clear purpose. When a woman reaches the age at which her daughters become sexually mature, the cessation of her own fertility allows her to redirect her energy from reproduction to caring for her grandchildren. In this way, she supports the survival and success of her own genes through subsequent generations. Instead of risking pregnancy in old age, the woman becomes a key figure in the family and social structure – a custodian of knowledge, stability, and intergenerational connection.

Today, in modern society, the role of women has changed significantly – we live differently, longer and healthier, and reproductive boundaries are shifting thanks to medically assisted reproduction. It is therefore possible to become a mother in your forties, just as it was in your twenties. However, the evolutionary basis remains: unlike most mammals, women’s fertility is limited in time. It is precisely this biological peculiarity that reveals the deeper meaning of menopause – not as an end, but as a natural transition to a new life role that carries equal importance and value.

Evidence for the effectiveness of hypnosis in menopause

Sleep problems and hot flashes are among the most common health concerns affecting menopausal women. The entire sleep cycle can be disrupted during the menopause transition, and the consequences of poor sleep are multiple – from physical and psychological, to cognitive and social challenges.

Due to the limitations of hormone replacement therapy (HRT), more and more women are turning to complementary methods to relieve symptoms. One of the most effective among them has proven to be clinical hypnosis.

What does research say?

According to the National Institute of Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH), there is solid data to support that hypnosis is an effective technique for improving sleep and reducing the frequency of hot flashes in menopausal women.

A review of several clinical trials has also shown that hypnosis provides the following benefits (1,2,3):

  • significant improvement in sleep quality and mood
  • reduction of hot flashes by more than 60%
  • reduction in frequency and intensity of symptoms
  • increasing the general quality of life and psychological stability

Hypnosis vs. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

While cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is recommended for psychologically managing menopausal symptoms, studies show that clinical hypnosis has a significantly stronger effect on physical symptoms, especially hot flashes. Hypnosis not only helps with emotional regulation, but also works on a physiological level, reducing the actual frequency and intensity of symptoms (4).

Recommendations of professional societies (5,6)

The North American Menopause Society (NAMS) and the European Menopause and Andropause Society (EMAS) – two world leading bodies for the health of middle-aged and older women – in their official guidelines from 2023 highlight hypnosis as one of the recommended non-hormonal methods for alleviating hot flashes and sleep disorders.

Their evidence-based analysis of numerous clinical trials recognizes hypnosis as a safe, effective and scientifically validated intervention that can significantly improve the quality of life of menopausal women.

Hypnosis is not a “baseless alternative,” but a clinically supported and proven method that has a place in a modern approach to menopausal symptoms – especially in women seeking a non-hormonal and individually tailored approach.

FEEL THE POWER OF RTT ® HYPNOTHERAPY

RTT® (Rapid Transformational Therapy) uses clinical hypnosis, cognitive techniques and neurological reprogramming of the subconscious. The goal is to recognize deep-seated negative beliefs (eg “menopause is suffering”, “my body is betraying me”) and replace them with new, supportive thoughts:

“My body is adapting wisely.”

“I’m going through menopause quickly, easily and safely.”

“This is my time of strength and balance.”

After an individual RTT ® session, the client receives a personalized audio recording that she listens to for 21 days. This encourages neuroplasticity and helps the body return to a state of balance – as if resetting its own natural settings.

Sailing, not shipwreck

Menopause doesn’t have to be a time of discomfort and loss. It can be an opportunity for redefinition, empowerment, and renewal.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or experiencing uncomfortable symptoms, you’re not alone. And you don’t have to accept a state that doesn’t suit you. There is a way to get through this period consciously, gently, and with the full support of your own body and subconscious.

Release limiting beliefs, regulate symptoms, and awaken self-confidence and trust in your own body for a fast and safe journey through menopause guided by science, your subconscious, and your inner strength.
